The Society was formed in 1992 to mark the 450th. anniversary of the birth of Mary, Queen of Scots at Linlithgow. The aim is to promote further study of her life and times. It is not an academic Society, rather a group of people who share an interest in the Tudor and Stewart period of history but particularly in the life and times of the Queen of Scots.
There are branches both in Scotland and in England where members can attend regular meetings and outings.
A Journal is produced three times a year and is circulated to all members. It contains interesting and sometimes little known information about Mary, her courtiers, her people and her times. Correspondence and Research are entered into and a sizeable library of books and archival material has been built up and is constantly being added to.
An Annual Gathering is held when members worldwide may attend to meet socially, hear an interesting speaker and enjoy lunch in the historical ambience of the venue.
New Members are always welcome from all parts of the world.
If You have an
interest in Mary, Queen of Scots the Society will afford you an opportunity to develop and expand that interest and share
it with others.
